Honour’able Prime Minister of India

Unlike the Presidnt, who is the Nominal Executive Head, Prime Minister is the real executive authority of the Government. He is the ex-officio Chairman of the Planning Commission, National Development council, National intergration council and Inter-state council. He gets the same salary as the other MPs (In addition, he gets some other allowances ).

All the powers of the President are actually the powers of the Prime Minister. The President convenes and prorogues all sessions of Parliament in consultation with him.

He can recommend the dissolution of Lok Sabha bafore expiry. He appoints the Council of ministers. He allocates portfolis to ministers and ask a minister to resign and can get him dismissed by President.

He assists the President in the appointment of all high officials. He only recommends to the President to declare all types of emergency.
